Nation marks 100th year of parliament amid pandemic
Turkey's president wished youngsters a happy April 23 Children's Day and congratulated the 100th anniversary of the foundation of the Turkish parliament.
"I congratulate the 100th anniversary of the foundation of the Turkish parliament, and the Children's Day of all children in Turkey and around the world," Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said on Twitter.

Turkey will mark the 100th anniversary of the foundation of its parliament through day-long events across the country, following social distancing rules due to the coronavirus, in an important milestone as the nation is poised to celebrate the centennial of the foundation of the Republic of Turkey in 2023.

Greek Parliament speaker expresses condolences for Turkey quake victims
Greece's Parliament Speaker Kostas Tasoulas on Monday expressed his condolences for the victims of Turkey's deadly earthquake last week to his Turkish counterpart Mustafa Sentop, speaker of Turkey's Grand National Assembly.
Tasoulas' message of condolence was sent to Sentop via diplomatic channels, sources said.

30,000 cops dismissed over FETÖ ties
Turkish parliament speaker Mustafa Şentop said on Dec. 25 more than 30,000 police constables were dismissed from service as part of the fight against FETÖ, the group behind the 2016 defeated coup attempt.
Speaking at the deputy police chiefs graduation ceremony in the capital Ankara, Şentop said one-third of these dismissals were of high-ranking officers.

Turkish parliament ratifies 2020 budget
The Turkish parliament has ratified the country's 2020 budget following a 12-day marathon session in the general assembly.
Parliament Speaker Mustafa Şentop announced in the early hours of Dec. 21 that the budget was backed by 329 lawmakers while 159 voted against it in the 600-seat chamber.
