Gov’t to ‘provide financial aid’ to families of blast victims
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has ordered a legal arrangement to provide 1.5 million Turkish Liras in cash aid and a monthly pension to the families of the workers who died in the Oct. 14's mine blast in the northern province of Bartın, the daily Milliyet has reported.
Over 225,000 people apply on 1st day of housing project’s launch: Minister
Over 225,000 people have applied for the housing project, which aims to help low-income citizens own houses and tackle problems regarding property prices and rents, on the first day of its launch, Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Minister Murat Kurum has said.
"Applications for land and industrial workplaces will be made between Oct. 10 and Nov. 7," Kurum said.

Turkish parliament to feed cats in compound
Turkish parliamentary speaker's office has instructed the establishment of a team to feed the cats in the parliament compound.
Following the efforts of experienced photojournalist Mustafa İstemi, who feeds the cats in the parliamentary compound with his wife İnci İstemi every morning, even on holidays, Parliament Speaker Mustafa Şentop instructed a team to be formed to feed the cats.

New mucilage to form in Marmara Sea: Expert
All conditions are set for the formation of new mucilage in the Marmara Sea considering the latest photos, according to Mustafa Sarı, a member of the Mucilage Science Board and a professor from Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University.
"When you look at Bandırma Bay, for example, you see three different colors, brown, turquoise and dark green."

Cengizhan Şimşek triumphs in Kırkpınar oil wrestling
Cengizhan Şimşek won the title of "başpehlivan" (chief wrestler) and the coveted golden belt at the ancient 661st oil wrestling festival held in Türkiye's northwestern province of Edirne on July 3.
The epic battle between two strong wrestlers, Şimşek and Mustafa Taş, was not concluded in normal time, with both of them preferring a passive style.

Company to compensate customers in Isparta for power outage
The Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) has ruled that electricity distribution company Akdeniz Elektrik Dağıtım should pay 15.6 million Turkish Liras to its nearly 28,000 subscribers in compensation for the power outages earlier this year in the province of Isparta.
