The Great Bulgarian Director and Animator Rumen Petkov has Died
Bulgarian director of animated films Rumen Petkov has passed away said Nadezhda Slavova, a student, a colleague and a relative. Petkov is the winner of "Golden Palm" at the Cannes Film Festival in 1985 for "Marriage", directed by Slav Bakalov, reports TransmediumNews.
Festival in Sofia Brings Animated Films from all over the World
276 cartoons, 32 of them Bulgarian, participate in the Golden Kuker Film Festival in Sofia. It begins on May 7, and there will be free screenings.

Sofia is Hosting 8th Edition of the Golden Kuker International Animation Film Festival
From 1 to 7 May Sofia is hosting the 8th edition of the Golden Kuker International Animation Film Festival, Sofia. The event is taking place at the City Mark Centre and the National Art Academy's faculty of applied arts, BNR reported.
A total of 1,117 title from 87 countries were submitted to the festival, on which 205 were selected for the competition programme, BNR reported.
