Turkey's Çelebi keen to buy Air India's ground handling unit

Turkey's Çelebi Aviation Holding has shown interest in buying state-owned Air India's ground handling operations, India's aviation secretary Rajiv Nayan Choubey said on Sept. 8.

Çelebi also provides ground handling services in India.

Çelebi has written to the ministry showing interest to bid for the Indian flag carrier's ground handing operations, Choubey told Reuters.

China urges resistance to protectionism

Chinese President Xi Jinping told an international summit on Sept. 5 that although the global economy had improved, risk factors had also increased.

India, China agree to pull back troops from border confrontation

India and China have agreed to pull back their troops from a face-off in the high Himalayas where China, India and Bhutan meet, signaling a thaw in their months-long standoff, India's government said on Aug. 28.

India's Ministry of External Affairs said India and China have had diplomatic exchanges in recent weeks over the situation on Doklam plateau in the eastern Himalayas.
