Yugoslav ‘Red Beret’ Army Brigades Fought in Bosnia – Witness

Three brigades of the Serb-dominated Yugoslav Army took part in fighting in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1993 and, like the special operations unit of Serbian state security, were known as 'Red Berets', a defence witness in the retrial of two top Serbian state security officials in The Hague said on Thursday.

Retired Canadian General, former UNPROFOR Commander in Sarajevo, Lewis MacKenzie, comes to Belgrade on the forthcoming Belgrade Book Fair, in order to promote Serbian edition of his book entitled: "Peacekeeper: The Road to Sarajevo", written 26 years ago, that was a bestseller in Canada.

"There's no justice for Serbs, yet in the end, we win"

This was his reaction to the decision of the Bosnia-Herzegovina Court to acquit Naser Oric, a wartime commander of Muslim forces in the Srebrenica area, who stood accused of war crimes committed against local Serbs in the early 1990s.

Vucic observed that it was obvious that for us, Serbs, "there will be no justice."
