PM "not surprised" by rector's fake credentials

BELGRADE -- Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić on Friday reacted to revelations that Megatred University Rector Mića Jovanović falsely claimed to have earned a doctoral title.

The daily Blic is reporting that Vučić said he was "not surprised" by the findings of the Ministry of Education.

Srdjan Verbic, Serbian Education Minister, on Thursday called on Mica Jovanovic, rector of the privately run Megatrend University in Serbia, to resign.

The call came after the European Network of National Information Centres on Academic Recognition and Mobility determined that Jovanovic did not obtain a PhD at the London School of Economics, LSE, as his official biography claims.

Megatrend rector urged to "respond, or step down"

BELGRADE -- The London School of Economics has no record of a doctoral thesis authored by the rector of the private Belgrade-based Megatrend University, Mića Jovanović.

This was announced on Thursday by Serbian Education Minister Srđan Verbić.
