Serbia to Host NATO Disaster-Response Exercise
Serbia is to host a NATO emergency situations exercise from October 8 to 11 in Mladenovac, near Belgrade, in which 30 countries will take part with about 1,000 participants.
"The aim of the exercise is to improve interoperability in international disaster response operations," the NATO website said, adding that the exercise will simulate an earthquake situation.

Serbia to acquire sophisticated Chinese drone systems
Speaking in Beijing, where President Aleksandar Vucic is currently visiting, Nenad Miloradovic said it concerned the acquisition of combat drones, which will have the ability to scout, discover targets during the day and at night, as well as to shoot with laser-guided bombs and missiles.
Serbian Workers Strike over Arms Company Privatisation
The Union Organisation of Zastava Arms said that the company's 2,000 workers will go on a one-day strike on Wednesday to demand exemption from privatisation and protest against poor working conditions.
Serbia's new MiGs are 28 years old, generation 4+
The six MiG-29s that Russia has donated and delivered to Serbia will enter service in 2018, RTS is reporting.
All six warplanes will be assembled by October 20, Belgrade Liberation Day, and shown for the first time during the celebrations.
After they have been overhauled and modernized, the MiGs will be classified as generation 4+ military jets.

Serbia and Russia Preparing Deal on Opening Helicopter Maintenance Center

Moscow and Belgrade are preparing to sign an agreement on maintenance of helicopters from the other countries at facilities located in Serbia, Serbia's Acting Assistant Minister for Material Resources Nenad Miloradovic told Sputnik on Tuesday.
