Bulgaria has signed with Russian aircraft company MiG a deal to have its fighter jets refurbished, the company's Director General has said.

The Sofia City Prosecutor's Office says it has filed an indictment against outgoing Defense Minister Nikolay Nenchev with the court.
Allegedly, two acts constituting "the same crime" inflicted substantial harm on the Bulgarian Armed Forces, according to the prosecution's press office.

Outgoing Defense Minister Nikolay Nenchev received a new summons to the Sofia Investigation Office late in December, his institution says.
No reason has been mentioned in the Defense Ministry's statement.
However, in just over a month the minister in resignation has been handed two indictments on two separate charges.

Rumyana Arnaudova, Bulgarian Chief Prosecutor Sotir Tsatsarov's spokesperson, has refused to elaborate, but has added more information will be made available on Tuesday, according to news website Dnevnik.bg.
Bulgaria Sets Aside Day to Honour Anti-Nazis
At its last meeting for the year on Wednesday, Bulgaria's outgoing government adopted a proposal to establish a commemoration day in honour of Bulgarians who fought against Nazi Germany. The proposal was submitted by the Defence Minister Nikolay Nenchev.

Bulgaria's President-elect Rumen Radev has said he wants the country to be a "real member of NATO, with real capabilities and to be a loyal and predictable partner."

Outgoing Defense Minister Nikolay Nenchev has expressed concern at "secret information" that Bulgaria services may have obtained by wiretapping his convesations.
He has accused the authorities responsible for "unfounded wiretapping of high-profile statesmen" of having adopted a "practice of a totalitarian past that has been denied by the Bulgarian society."

Bulgaria's Outgoing Defence Minister Charged on Second Count
Sofia Military-District Prosecutor's Office has indicted outgoing Defence Minister Nikolay Nenchev on charges of malfeasance.
According to the prosecution, Nenchev is responsible for a public procurement order for military uniforms which has defrauded the treasury.
Bulgaria's Outgoing Defence Minister Charged
"I have been handed an indictment which does not worry me at all. I am absolutely certain, convinced in everything that I have been doing over the years," stated outgoing Defence Minister Nikolay Nenchev on his way out from Sofia City Investigative Service, reported BGNES.
Nenchev was summoned in relation to the contract for the repair of the engines of MiG-29 with Poland.
