Ankara refuses to recall research vessel from Cypriot EEZ
Turkey dismissed calls by new Greek PM Alexis Tsipras that it recall a research vessel from Cyprus’ EEZ. The Greek PM supported Cyprus’ position that the vessel Barbaros must leave Cyprus’ EEZ before negotiations between the two communities on the divided island resume.

Irrespective whether Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Anastasiades would like to accept it or not the offshore hydrocarbon riches of the eastern Mediterranean island "is linked with the peace talks and cannot be delinked." Could it be said clearer than that? Hydrocarbons issue has become part and parcel of the already problematic Cyprus talks process. Who has said this?

Just like any others would have acted had they been spoiled throughout previous decades by almost the entire international community; Greek Cypriots are simply trying to gain everything without paying at all.

Can money alone buy peace?
With President Dr. DerviÅ EroÄlu repeatedly denying that talks with the Greek Cypriot side were in a deadlock and even Greek Cypriot opinion makers accusing Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Anastasiades of becoming a âconservative Christofiasâ interested only in stalling tactics, a paper stressed the peace dividend would radically change communal and individual prospects.
