Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said on Monday that PASOK, under the leadership of Nikos Androulakis, is closer to SYRIZA than to New Democracy, while reiterating his conviction that his conservative party will secure an absolute majority in the upcoming general election.

Government spokesman Akis Skertos has ruled out the possibility of New Democracy joining forces with PASOK to form a coalition government after the elections on May 21, blaming Socialist leader Nikos Androulakis for keeping a hardline stance.

The socialist PASOK-Movement for Change party unveiled its at-large list, made up of 15 candidates, for the May 21 election Saturday.

Nikos Androulakis, the leader of Greece's third-largest political coalition, PASOK-KINAL, has expressed his support for a coalition government after the May 21 election, provided that his party performs well in the vote, enabling him to negotiate their political priorities with the top vote-getting party.

Kyriakos Mitsotakis, the leader of New Democracy and prime minister of Greece, will on Wednesday present his party's policy program at the Hellenic Cosmos Cultural Center ahead of the May 21 elections. The event will start at 6 p.m.

As the May 21 elections approach, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and his political rivals are intensifying their campaigns.

At 7 p.m. on Monday, Mitsotakis is scheduled to address a rally of his New Democracy party in Egaleo, western Attica.

Program announcements, candidate lists and the exploratory mandates, which will commence on the evening of the May 21 elections, will be the focus in the coming days of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and the leaders of opposition SYRIZA and PASOK, Alexis Tsipras and Nikos Androulakis.   

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, who is on the island of Tinos with his family, wished Happy Easter to Orthodox Greeks around the world in a post on the social media. Mitsotakis will be attending services on the island during the holiday.

Main opposition leader Alexis Tsipras was spending Easter with his family in Corfu, where he participated in the annual ritual of pot smashing.

Both major Greek parties, the ruling center-right New Democracy and left-wing SYRIZA, are targeting the more than 10% of voters who, according to recent opinion polls, are at present undecided who to vote for.
