Police Detain Six Foreigners in Overnight Operation at Refugee Centers in Sofia

A recent police operation conducted in refugee centers across Sofia resulted in the detention of six foreigners, as announced by the Ministry of the Interior. The operation, which took place last night, targeted accommodation facilities in the "Ovcha Kupel," "Voenna Rampa," and "Vrazhdebna" districts, with a total of 680 individuals subjected to checks.

Elevated Levels of Fine Particulate Matter is Sofia

Elevated levels of fine particulate matter have been registered in Sofia, airsofia.info reported. According to the map, the air is polluted in almost the entire city. 

Most polluted residential areas are Knyazhevo, Gorna Banya, Karpuzitsa, Boyana, Ovcha Kupel, Studentski grad, Krasna Polyana and parts of Mladost 2.

Sofia Inspectorate Carries Out Inspections of Sources of Air Pollution

Teams of the Sofia Inspectorate are carrying out inspections of sources of air pollution with particulate matter from construction sites, auto repair shops, tyre fitting centres, waste-buying sites, furniture manufacturers, as well as outdoor waste burning, said the Sofia Municipality press office.

Four Industrial Zones to Be Built in Sofia

"We are creating four industrial zones. The large industrial zone will be located in the northern territories - Kremikovtsi, Novi Iskar, Vrabnitsa. This is our hope of attracting a strategic investor in our city. This was announced by Sofia Mayor Yordanka Fandakova, who participated in a forum on "German investments in Bulgaria 1990-2017.
