Ferry fire put out, passengers safely evacuated
Some 538 passengers and 79 crew were safely evacuated after a fire broke out on the Olympic Champion passenger ferry on Saturday morning in the northwestern port of Igoumenitsa.
The coast guard said the fire broke out in the ferry's vehicle hold and was put out by the crew. Two passengers were hospitalized, the coast guard said, without providing details.

Anti-fascist rally planned in memory of slain rapper
Thousands of anti-fascist demonstrators were on Wednesday expected to gather in the Piraeus suburb of Keratsini to march on the offices of Golden Dawn party to commemorate the death of rapper Pavlos Fyssas, who was murdered by self-professed GD member Giorgos Roupakias six years ago.
Similar rallies were planned in Thessaloniki, Volos, Patra, Trikala and Kalamatas.
Driver in deadly hit-and-run to be tried by military court
A 28-year-old motorist was released on Monday from police detention in Patra, western Greece, after striking a 67-year-old pedestrian and her grandson, who was just a few months old, near the town of Aigio on Sunday afternoon, killing them both.
He was released after his case was deferred to a Piraeus military court, as the 28-year-old is serving in the navy as a sergeant.
