For the term of the government from May 4, 2017 to the end of 2019, various types of defense products and related services were provided to the Bulgarian Army with grants from the US Government to the total value of $ 87,237,534. This was announced by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Krasimir Karakachanov in parliamentary control.

Bulgarian MPs on Wednesday backed changes to the Judicial System Act - proposed in June by MPs from the centre-right GERB party of Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and the nationalist United Patriots - banning the unions of judges, prosecutors and investigators from receiving any other forms of funding, apart from membership fees and donations.

The leader of Bulgaria's ultranationalist Ataka party, Volen Siderov, will lead his formation's list for the upcoming European Parliament elections.
