Pavelic

Robert McCormick, chair of the Department of History, Political Science, Philosophy and American Studies at the University of South Carolina Upstate, recently published a book through I.B. Tauris & Co., Ltd. titled "Croatia Under Ante Pavelic: America, the Ustase and Croatian Genocide."

The tribute banner, which depicts Pavelic in uniform, was found in Siroki Brijeg on Thursday morning.

On the banner are written the words "In Madrid, a tomb of gold", a line from a well-known fascist song that continues: "where lies the leader of all Croats".

Pavelic died in the Spanish capital Madrid on December 28, 1959, at the age of 70, and was buried there.
