Turkey, Azerbaijan should target free trade agreement: Minister

Turkey and Azerbaijan should aim for a free trade agreement, the Turkish trade minister said on April 1. 

The newly agreed preferential trade agreement, which into effect on March 1, only includes a limited number of products, and a free trade agreement is suitable for both countries, Ruhsar Pekcan said during her visit to Baku, the Azerbaijani capital.

Russa raises quota on tomato imports from Turkey

Russia has decided to increase its quota imposed on tomato imports from Turkey, the Turkish trade minister said on Jan. 21.

"Quota imposed on our tomato exports by Russia has been increased from 200,000 tons to 250,000 tons," Ruhsar Pekcan tweeted.

The decree will come into force in 10 days, she added.

Russia has been Turkey's top tomato export markets in recent years.

Free trade deal to usher in new era in Turkey-UK ties, Ankara says

The landmark Turkey-U.K. free trade agreement set to be signed on Dec. 29 will usher a new era in bilateral economic and trade ties starting Jan. 1, Turkey's trade minister said on Dec. 28. 

"This new era in our relations will be mutually beneficial for both Turkey and the U.K.," Ruhsar Pekcan tweeted.

Turkey, Libya ink deal to enhance trade, economic ties

Turkey and Libya signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to boost trade and economic ties, the Turkish trade minister said on Aug. 13. 

The deal will lay the groundwork for resolving ongoing issues between Turkish firms and Libyan employers, setting new investments and undertaking new projects, Ruhsar Pekcan said at a meeting held in Turkey's capital Ankara.
