The municipality of Hissarya is switching to electricity from tomorrow. The hospital, kindergartens, schools and community centers must stop electric heating and switch to heating with stoves.

Two forest rangers died and a third suffered bad burns on Wednesday while fighting a large fire near the southern village of Petrovo, the Interior Ministry said. In another fire in the southern village of Starosel, people were evacuated after grass fire destroyed six houses.

Archaeologists from Bulgaria's Hisarya Archaeological Museum unearthed a lion's head, a consecrated tablet with nymphs and a part of a life size statue, reports Dnes.bg.

According to the director of the town museum, Mitko Madzharov, the artifacts were dated end of II and beginning of III c. AD and prove that the settlement existed before the rule of the Roman emperor Diocletian.

The state of emergency in Bulgaria's Hisarya municipality has been lifted, mayor Penka Ganeva told Darik radio.

"The decision was taken after all damages were reported, all the water in the houses was drained away and the situation returned to normal," Ganeva said.
