Bulgaria’s Ultra-Nationalist Parties Mull Running for July General Election Together

Krassimir Karakachanov's ultra-nationalist VMRO party's executive met on May 13 to discuss options for its approach to the July parliamentary elections, including standing alone or in a coalition with like-minded formations.

Bulgarians Abroad Voted for Slavi and Conservative Alliance of Right

"There Is Such a People", Democratic Bulgaria (DB) and Conservative Alliance of the Right (KOD) have the highest voter support among Bulgarians abroad, according to interim data as of 06:30 am, with 80.86% processed protocols. GERB and BSP are in fourth and sixth place respectively.

"There Is Such a People" gets 28.46% of the votes.

140 of the Upper Echelons - Ministers, Deputies, Mayors, Investigated for Corruption

140 senior officials, including deputies, ministers, deputy ministers, mayors, agency heads, agents of DANS (State Agency for National Security), police officers, tax and customs officers, are being investigated for corruption in Bulgaria.

The cases against 101 of them are at pre-trial stage, and there is an indictment filed in court against 39 of them.
