Veteran journalist Kıvanç dies at 97
Famous veteran Turkish journalist Halit Kıvanç died at the age of 97 on Oct. 25.
The death of Kıvanç, one of the country's most well-known sports commentators, was announced by his son Ümit Kıvanç in a Twitter post. "The funeral will be held in Zincirlikuyu Cemetery on Oct. 27," he said.

Portrait of Ottoman Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent goes to auction
A rare 16th-century portrait of Suleiman the Magnificent, the longest-reigning Ottoman sultan, will be auctioned by Sotheby's.
The portrait of the sultan will be on live auction at Sotheby's with a starting bid of 60,000 pounds ($83,000). Estimates suggest it will be sold for around 80,000 - 120,000 pounds.

Prosecutor orders probe into claims by Kythera bishop
The Piraeus Prosecutor's office has ordered an inquiry into comments made by Bishop of Kythera Seraphim, claiming that the vaccine against the novel coronavirus contains "products used in abortions."
The inquiry seeks to examine whether the statements were in breach of laws regarding misinformation.
Logar to meet Italian colleague on-line, visit Vatican Friday
