During the government session on Friday, Social Democratic Party ministers complained that they had not been kept informed about the Ministry of Justice's negotiations with the Serbian Church, the largest faith group by far in the country.

During the session of the parliamentary security and defence council, Abazovic called on the Special State Prosecutor to investigate the organisers of the protests.

Historian Dejan Ristic also attended the meeting in the premises of the Patriarchate of the Serbian Orthodox Church.

Vui stated on Instagram that he met with Patriarch Porfirije, and he also published photos from that meeting.

Montenegrin officials have accused the opposition Democratic Party of Socialists, DPS, of launching a coup attempt during violent protests at the weekend against the enthronement of a new Serbian Orthodox Church leader, claiming that some of the protesters were armed.

The Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral, Joanikije, said today that "it will take a long time to overcome these divisions".

Police in Montenegro on Sept. 5 dispersed hundreds of demonstrators who gathered in the historic city of Cetinje to block the inauguration of the new head of the Serbian Orthodox Church in the tiny Balkans nation.

He pointed out that so far he has not said a single word about the events in Montenegro, but that he recognizes the modern mechanism of red herring.

His Holiness announced that he was glad to see that the page opened on Instagram attracted more than 10,000 followers in just a couple of hours.
