The Central Election Commission has announced the final results of the first round of the presidential election. As of 20.00 on November 14, with 100% processed protocols, the activity was 40.5%.

With 100% of the election protocols processed, the presidential candidate couple Rumen Radev - Iliana Yotova received 49.41% of the votes, and Anastas Gerdjikov and Nevyana Miteva - 22.82%.

I take full responsibility for the result of BSP and resign, said Kornelia Ninova at a press conference at the party headquarters.

"I waited for the final results of the elections. I assess this result as catastrophic, especially with the fact that we gave way from third to fourth place. I take full responsibility, the blame is entirely mine," she added.

The caretaker Prime Minister Stefan Yanev made a dramatic address to the nation, urging Bulgarians to follow the measures so that the health care system does not collapse. He acknowledged that the government had made a mistake by waiting until the last minute to announce new restrictive measures.

A steering committee to nominate President Rumen Radev and Vice President Iliana Iotova as independent candidates to run for a second term in office at the November 14 presidential elections held its inaugural meeting on Monday. The committee comprises nearly 200 members, among them politicians, intellectuals, athletes, science, culture and art figures, and journalists.

This morning, President of Bulgaria Rumen Radev dissolved the acting caretaker government and presented the new one, which had to be formed after the 46th National Assembly failed to form a regular cabinet. There are three new faces in this latest caretaker government, led as its predecessor by Prime Minister Stefan Yanev.

At the beginning of the meeting, the President congratulated Cornelia Ninova for her responsible approach to the negotiations for forming a government within the third term.

"Alas, new elections and new negotiations await us. I believe that BSP will be an active participant in them again," Radev added.

The BSP, which came third in the most recent polls in July, is being given the chance to form a government after failed attempts by the winning party There is Such a Nation and former Prime Minister Boyko Borissov's GERB.

MPs approved the resignation of Plamen Nikolov as prime ministerial candidate. The decision was reached after a new case and a presidential council.

Today, the National Assembly will vote on the decision to withdraw Plamen Nikolov's candidacy from TISP for a prime minister.
