After presenting a review of what has been done, Radev read his message "for a new Bulgaria" and said that he and Yotova will run for presidency again, and how they will do it will "be clear within the term established by the law".

"The President should specify exactly what money flows I have to stop instead of criticizing the government for uncontrolable spending," said Prime Minister Boyko Borissov during his visit to the southern Bulgarian town of Luki. Borisov's speech was again  live streamed on social media and is a response to President Radev's statement about un-transparent spending of budget funds.

"President Radev has demonstrated that he is not capable of building consensus and has scheduled the elections for April 4. Since the summer, he has proposed that elections should be in November or December. On December 7, he set the date for March 28. Then the consultations began. Everyone said they were ready to go to the polls on that date. Today Radev announced a new date - April 4.

Borissov criticized Radev's decision, saying it was hard to know how the pandemic would unfold by late March and implying that elections should be delayed.

Bulgaria's Parliament on March 23 voted to approve the President's veto on the State of Emergency Measures Act. The law was passed on March 13 and provided for regulating the measures and actions during the month-long state of emergency introduced in connection with the coronavirus epidemic, BNT reported.

The Bulgarian army should not be used for political purposes, this country's Minister of Defense Krasimir Karakachanov said, BNR reported.

Dissatisfied with the election of Ivan Geshev as the new Chief Prosecutor, representatives of the civilian ''Boets'' movement gathered today before the presidency, demanding that the head of state not sign the decree appointing Sotir Tsatsarov's successor to the post.

According to BNR, the Bulgarian National Assembly is expected to include in its agenda President Radev's veto on amendments to the 2019 Budget Law which allows the financing of political parties by donations from legal entities and sole proprietors.

In his address President Radev outlines the ethnic tolerance that lies in the core of Bulgarian culture which demonstrates mutual understanding and respect among people of different religions, reports BNT.
