Kosovo's new Prime Minister, Ramush Haradinaj, made his first official foreign visit since he took the office on Wednesday to Tirana, where he met his Albanian host, Edi Rama.

After the meeting, Rama stated that the governments of the two mainly ethnic Albanian states in the Balkans intended to focus on making up for lost time in terms of deeping cooperation.

Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj has confirmed that the country is abandoning its attempts to join Interpol this year, after failing to secure enough support to join from existing members.

61 voted in favor, while one member of the Assembly abstained.

Speaking on Voice of America on Sunday, Kosovo's new Prime Minister, Ramush Haradinaj, said he would take a fresh look at the controversial border deal with Montenegro signed in 2015.

He said it wrongly demarcated the border between Kosovo and Montenegro, placing it several miles inside Kosovo below the peak of Mt Cakor.

Ex-guerilla commander Ramush Haradinaj's cabinet was approved on Saturday ending a political deadlock that has persisted since elections on June 11.

Haradinaj, the candidate of the PAN coalition, won a tight majority - with 61 votes in favour in the 120-seat parliament.

"There is no alternative to dialogue with Serbia," said Haradinaj, addressing parliament on Saturday.
