Turkey Opposition Leader Blames Erdogan for Attack on Party Building

Türkiye, Greece agree to mutually support candidacies in int'l organizations

Türkiye and Greece decided to mutually support the candidacies of the two countries in international organizations, Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said on March 20.

Çavuşoğlu met with his Greek counterpart Nikos Dendias in Brussels on the sidelines of the International Donors Conference.

The Turkish ombudsman Şeref Malkoç has asked his Russian and Ukrainian counterparts to convince their leadership for the establishment of a humanitarian corridor for the wounded soldiers as well as civilians strapped in the battlefield through the Turkish mediation, daily Hürriyet reported on Jan. 16.

People from Bulgaria, Greece flock to Edirne for shopping

Thousands of people from Bulgaria and Greece travel to the Turkish northwestern province of Edirne for shopping.

"On weekends around 12,000 visitors from those countries come to Edirne, while on weekdays it is around 6,000 to 7,000," said Recep Zıpkınkurt, the head of the Edirne Chamber of Trade and Commerce.

Those visitors from Bulgaria and Greece on average spend 500 euros.
