Ambassador Mekin Mustafa Kemal Ökem has been named Turkey's new ambassador to Israel, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said Nov. 16.

"He took up the position yesterday," Erdoğan told reporters before he departed for Pakistan.

The United States elections have shown us an interesting side of Turkish public opinion. During the election coverage on CNN Türk last week, we aired a couple of on-the-street interviews and we were almost baffled by the fact that despite all the pro-AKP media propaganda, ordinary people were in favor of Hillary Clinton.

A free trade agreement between Turkey and Pakistan will be ready to be signed in December, according to Ankara's ambassador to Islamabad.
