Recep Tayyip Erdogan
BELGRADE - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has escalated a row with Washington, over images of U.S. special forces wearing Syrian Kurdish militia patches. "The support the U.S. has given to the PYD and YPG. I condemn it," Erdogan bellowed to a crowd at an airport opening ceremony in Diyarbakir, the main city in Turkey's predominantly Kurdish south east.
The Kaos Gay and Lesbian Cultural Research and Solidarity Association (Kaos GL) has published an annual report monitoring human rights violations based on sexual orientation and gender identity, calling on the Turkish state to adopt anti-discriminatory measures to prevent hate crimes against LGBT individuals that remain largely unreported by media and security authorities.
Turkey's incoming Prime Minister Binali Yildirim has said he is preparing a list of cabinet ministers after President Recep Tayyip Erdogan asked him to form the country's new government.
"It is not the first time a government is formed in Turkey," Yildirim told reporters in Ankara on Monday, according to AFP.
