Armed forces chief promoted to lieutenant general
Robert Glavaš, chief of the general staff of the Slovenian Armed Forces (SAF), has been promoted from major general to lieutenant general by President Nataša Pirc Musar, the army's supreme commander.
The promotion comes at a time of a demanding international situation which calls for multiple and wise adjustments, Pirc Musar said at a ceremony at the Presidential Palace on 24 June.

The armed forces of Slovenia and the US state of Colorado have been cooperating for 30 years. The Colorado National Guard (CONG) helped Slovenia develop its modern army, and Colorado soldiers have learned a lot about mountain rescue from their Slovenian counterparts.
Olimpija Ljubljana ends short-lived cooperation with Prosinečki
Ljubljana – Olimpija, Ljubljana’s foremost football club, has terminated its cooperation with former Croatian superstar Robert Prosinečki who was hired as the head-coach in March this year. The club confirmed on Friday it is also parting ways with sporting director Mladen Rudonja.
Iskratel happy with 2021 results given situation
Kranj – Telecoms equipment maker Iskratel reported EUR 98.4 million in revenue for 2021, up 5.5% year-on-year. “Our business result was positive in what was a really challenging period,” Iskratel CEO Robert Kuzmič has told the STA. In light of developments at home and around the world, the group is satisfied with the results despite not having achieved the initial plans.

European audiovisual artists demand fair market conditions
Ljubljana – The European audiovisual industry needs modern legislation that will reflect the rapid development of digital technologies on the market, agreed participants of a regional conference on copyright. They called for the implementation of the EU copyright directive on the single digital market and a mechanism that would protect artists.
Ex-Luka Koper chairman acquitted in retrial
Koper – Robert Časar, ex-chairman of port operator Luka Koper, and Milan Pučko, former executive director at the company, were acquitted in a retrial at the Koper District Court on Monday after they were found guilty of abuse of office in defrauding Luka Koper when planning a logistical centre in Beltinci, north-eastern Slovenia.

Dead commemorated around the country
Ljubljana – Slovenians marked the Day of Remembrance of the Death, or All Saints’ Day, on Monday by visiting graves to pay respects to the dead. Senior Slovenian officials meanwhile laid wreaths at memorials to the victims of wars and war-related violence.
