Ski jumpers, basketball team, Lampič, Ozmec win top sports prizes

Brdo pri Kranju – The Slovenian women’s ski jumping team, men’s basketball team, cross-country skier Anamarija Lampič and former para athlete and sports official Peter Ozmec are the recipients of the 2021 Bloudek Prizes, the highest national awards for current and lifetime achievements in sports.

Urša Bogataj wins gold medal, Nika Križnar bronze at Winter Olympics

Beijing – Slovenian ski jumpers Urša Bogataj and Nika Križnar made history at the Winter Olympics in Zhangjiakou on Saturday, as Bogataj has won the gold and Križnar won the bronze medal. It is the first time that more than one Slovenian athlete has made the Olympic podium in the same event.

Ski jumper Ema Klinec third in Willingen

Willingen – Slovenian ski jumper Ema Klinec finished third in a World Cup event in Germany’s Willingen on Saturday. Because of strong winds only the first round was carried out. The winner was Austria’s Marita Kramer, who also tops the overall World Cup rankings, while Germany’s Katharina Atlthaus was second.

Ski jumper Križnar finishes on podium but loses overall lead

Tchaikovsky – Slovenian ski jumper Nika Križnar finished third in the women’s World Cup event in Russia’s Chaykovsky on Friday, but this was not enough for her to retain the overall lead in the competition. One event to go in the season, Križnar is trailing Sara Takanashi of Japan.

Slovenia’s women’s ski-jumping team wins silver at World Championship

Oberstdorf – Slovenia’s Nika Križnar, Špela Rogelj, Urša Bogataj and Ema Klinec won silver at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oberstdorf, Germany, on Friday, missing gold by just 1.4 points. This is first medal for Slovenia’s women’s ski-jumping team at a world championship.

Ski jumps: Double victory for Slovenian female team in Austria

Linz – Slovenia celebrated a double victory at the Women’s Ski Jumping World Cup in Austria’s Hinzenbach on Friday. Nika Križnar bagged her first World Cup victory with 237.4 points, followed by Ema Klinec with 236.6 points. Third place went to Norwegian Eirin Maria Kvandal (226.6 points).

Norway’s Kvandal win individual World Cup event in Ljubno

Ljubno ob Savinji – After Slovenia won the team Ski Jumping World Cup event for women in Ljubno ob Savinji on Saturday, Ema Klinec finished second in today’s individual event behind Eirin Maria Kvandal of Norway. Joining them on the podium with the third place is Marita Kramer of Austria.

First World Cup team event win for Slovenia women’s ski jumpers

Ljubno ob Savinji – Slovenian women’s ski jumpers Ema Klinec, Špela Rogelj, Urša Bogataj in Nika Križnar won Saturday’s World Cup team event, in what is their first-ever team event win. The victory comes after they finished second at the same venue, in Slovenia’s Ljubno ob Savinji, in 2019 and 2020.
