Kecmanovic ousted from Roland Garros after five-set thriller
PARIS - Serbian tennis player Miomir Kecmanovic is out of the Roland Garros after losing 5-7, 2-6, 7-6 (10-8), 7-6 (7-3), 7-6 (11-9) to Italian Andrea Vavasori in the first round on Tuesday.
Vavasori won after five hours and ten minutes of play.
Kecmanovic wasted five match points in the thrilling encounter.
Djokovic defeats Kovacevic in Roland Garros opener
PARIS - Serbia's top-ranked tennis player Novak Djokovic is through to the Roland Garros second round after defeating American Aleksandar Kovacevic 6-3, 6-2, 7-6 (7-1) on Monday.
World number three Djokovic won after two hours and 29 minutes of play.
Kovacevic is placed 114th in the ATP rankings.

Djokovic to face Kovacevic in Roland Garros opener
PARIS - Serbia's top-ranked male tennis player Novak Djokovic was on Thursday drawn to play American Aleksandar Kovacevic in the first round of Roland Garros and could face current world number one Carlos Alcaraz as early as in the semi-finals.
He will potentially face Russian Andrey Rublev in the quarter-finals and Daniil Medvedev in the final.

The main news was that Rafael Nadal, who won 14 trophies in Paris, decided to withdraw from the tournament after not recovering from an injury.

Elena Rybakina won the Italian Open on May 20 and promptly turned her attention to Roland Garros and the pursuit of a second career Grand Slam title.
Kazakhstan's Rybakina captured her second WTA 1000 title of the season at Foro Italico when Ukrainian opponent Anhelina Kalinina retired with a thigh injury which she had been carrying all week.

Tennis has a new "king" – Alcaraz won the US Open!
Alcaraz triumphed after three hours and 21 minutes - 6:4, 2:6, 7:6(1), 6:3.
The Spaniard won the first Grand Slam title of his career in the first final he played, while Ruud lost his second final, after Roland Garros, to Nadal this year.
Alcaraz (19) became world no.1 and thus made history, as he was the first teenager to do so, and also the youngest ever to do so.

Djokovic overtook Federer and broke the Grand Slam record
It is about the number of matches for the trophy at the biggest tournaments in the white sport.
The Serbian ace stood out on the all-time list, as this is his 32nd Grand Slam final in his career.
He is followed by Roger Federer with 31, as well as Rafael Nadal, who played in the Grand Slam final 29 times.
