Turkey registers all-time high February export figure

With a 9.6% hike year-on-year, Turkey's exports registered the all-time high February figure at $16 billion, the country's trade minister said on March 2. 

The country also saw a 9.8% increase in imports, reaching $19.4 billion during the same period, Ruhsar Pekcan said at a meeting in the capital Ankara where she revealed preliminary foreign trade data for February.

Turkey, Azerbaijan aim $15 bln trade volume by 2023

Turkey and Azerbaijan have set a target of reaching a trade volume of $15 billion by 2023, the Turkish vice president said on Feb. 18. 
Speaking at the Turkey-Azerbaijan Business Forum, Fuat Oktay said that apart from the brotherhood between Turkey and Azerbaijan, the two countries are important political and trade partners.

Turk Eximbank aims to provide $50 bln financing for exporters

Turk Eximbank aims to increase its export support by 11% year-on-year to over $50 billion in 2021, the Turkish trade minister said on Feb. 5. 

Speaking at Turk Eximbank 2020 Operating Results and 2021 Targets Meeting, Ruhsar Pekcan said the bank's export support rate is projected to rise to 27.7% this year.

Turkish president welcomes Qatari emir in Ankara

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Nov. 26 welcomed Qatar's Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani with an official ceremony in the capital Ankara.

Al Thani arrived in Ankara to attend the sixth meeting of the Turkey-Qatar Supreme Strategic Committee.

He was welcomed by a ceremony at the presidential complex, and the two leaders met one-to-one following the event.
