The leader of GERB, Boyko Borissov, has raised concerns over the depletion of Bulgaria's fiscal reserves in the final days of the regular government's administration.

Marking the inaugural decision of Bulgaria's new caretaker government, the Customs Agency welcomes a new director, as announced by acting Finance Minister Lyudmila Petkova. Georgi Dimov, former executive director of the National Revenue Agency (NRA), steps into the role, succeeding Petya Bankova.

"Regarding the budget, what the finance minister told me is that some of the planned expenses will not be realized, not because someone will stop them, but because there is no readiness for them.  According to the Minister, about BGN 2-3 billion in uncollected taxes are written off every year.

Finance Minister Assen Vassilev Friday announced personnel changes in the revenue agencies and their priorities at a news briefing on Friday. The caretaker cabinet has replaced the heads of the National Revenue Agency (NRA) andthe National Customs Agency (NCA).
