Body of missing person found, search for others continues

Death toll rises to 19 in the floods that hit the southern provinces of Şanlıurfa and Adıyaman, as search and rescue teams reached the body of one of the missing persons on March 20.

In Adıyaman's Tut district, the lifeless body of nurse Fatma Tekdal was found on the sixth day of the search efforts, while the operations continue to find her daughter, Zeynep Zümra Tekdal.

‘Negligence’ behind deaths at flooded underpass

The recent deaths at an underpass due to the flash floods that hit the southern provinces of Şanlıurfa and Adıyaman have brought the allegations of negligence to the agenda, as the death toll rises to 17.

At least 48,448 people lost their lives in the devastating earthquakes that rattled the country's south on Feb. 6, Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu has announced.

Some 6,660 of the dead were foreign nationals, Soylu said at a press conference in the eastern quake-hit province of Malatya.

The debris removal works are ongoing without interruption, Soylu added.

Most wanted PKK member killed in anti-terror op

Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu has announced that one of the most senior PKK terrorists, so-called top-ranking PKK member in the country and wanted in the red category, was killed alongside six other terrorists in the southeastern province of Şırnak in an anti-terror operation.

In the operation carried out by the provincial Gendarmerie Command, seven terrorists were "neutralized."
