Body of missing person found, search for others continues
Death toll rises to 19 in the floods that hit the southern provinces of Şanlıurfa and Adıyaman, as search and rescue teams reached the body of one of the missing persons on March 20.
In Adıyaman's Tut district, the lifeless body of nurse Fatma Tekdal was found on the sixth day of the search efforts, while the operations continue to find her daughter, Zeynep Zümra Tekdal.
‘Negligence’ behind deaths at flooded underpass
The recent deaths at an underpass due to the flash floods that hit the southern provinces of Şanlıurfa and Adıyaman have brought the allegations of negligence to the agenda, as the death toll rises to 17.
The extent of the damage is increasing in Şanlıurfa and Adıyaman, which have already been affected by the devastating Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes.

161 suspects detained in anti-drug op
Some 161 people were detained in an anti-drug operation in Istanbul, Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu has stated.
Within the scope of the "rooting out" operation that was launched to combat drug traffic, the 42nd operation was carried out yesterday by Istanbul Police.

Turkey’s quake toll tops 48,000 as gov’t races to build container cities
The death toll in Turkey from last month's major earthquakes has risen to 48,448, Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu said on Monday, as authorities rush to set up container cities to house for the longer-term those left homeless by the disaster.
The combined death toll including those killed in Syria has climbed to more than 54,000.

At least 48,448 people lost their lives in the devastating earthquakes that rattled the country's south on Feb. 6, Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu has announced.
Some 6,660 of the dead were foreign nationals, Soylu said at a press conference in the eastern quake-hit province of Malatya.
The debris removal works are ongoing without interruption, Soylu added.
Most wanted PKK member killed in anti-terror op
Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu has announced that one of the most senior PKK terrorists, so-called top-ranking PKK member in the country and wanted in the red category, was killed alongside six other terrorists in the southeastern province of Şırnak in an anti-terror operation.
In the operation carried out by the provincial Gendarmerie Command, seven terrorists were "neutralized."
