739 Turkish police personnel reinstated to their posts

Some 739 police personnel who were previously suspended over suspected links to what prosecutors call the Fetullahist Terrorist Organization (FETÖ) have been reinstated to their posts, state-run Anadolu Agency reported on July 5.

Following investigations, the suspects were not reported to have any links with FETÖ.

Constitutional Court denies Turkish hunger strikers' demand to be released from jail

The Constitutional Court on June 28 denied the demand of jailed educators Nuriye Gülmen and Semih Özakça to be released from prison. The two have been on hunger strike for over 100 days in protest at their dismissal from their posts in state of emergency decrees, and were arrested at the end of May.

Nuriye Gülmen and Semih Özakça have been on hunger strike for 90 days for their jobs. The former is an academic and the latter is a teacher. Despite all the statements from the interior minister, Süleyman Soylu, they are not terrorists, and not members of the Revolutionary People's Liberation Party-Front (DHKP-C).
