The number of people infected annually with HIV in Turkey is gradually rising, a health professional says.

Speaking to Demirören News Agency on Dec. 1, the day marked internationally as World AIDS Day to raise awareness of the disease, Şua Sümer from Selçuk University said that the number of HIV-positive people across the country increased by 7,000 in the last three years.

BASE, an exhibition event featuring works by new graduates of fine arts faculties, will bring together newly graduated young artists from all over Turkey with art lovers under the same roof in Istanbul.

The fifth edition of BASE will be organized at Istanbul's Tophane-i Amire between Sept. 29 Sept. and Oct. 3.
