Hamas warns Israel against 'foolishness' after deadly strike

Hamas on Oct. 11 warned Israel against ?foolishness? after an air strike by the Jewish state in the Gaza Strip in response to rocket fire killed a pregnant woman and her toddler.

?This shows the occupation?s desire to escalate,? said Sami Abu Zuhri, a spokesman for Hamas, which rules the Gaza Strip. ?We warn the occupation against continuing this foolishness.?  

Hamas 'totally opposed' to Abbas plan for new UN bid

Hamas said Jan. 5 it was "totally opposed" to Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas's plans to re-submit to the UN Security Council a resolution on ending Israel's occupation which failed last week.
      
"Hamas is totally opposed to any return to the UN Security Council by the Palestinian Authority," spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri said in a statement.
      

Hamas Says Long-Term Cease-Fire Agreed with Israel

Hamas leaders have said that Israeli and Palestinian negotiators have reached a cease-fire agreement to end seven weeks of fighting in Gaza.

"An agreement has been reached between the two sides and we are awaiting the announcement from Cairo to determine the zero hour for implementation," Hamas Spokesperson Sami Abu Zuhri said on Tuesday, according to reports of Al Jazeera.

Hamas Agrees to New 24-Hour Ceasefire in Gaza

Palestinian militant group Hamas has agreed to a 24-hour U.N.-mediated ceasefire.

The announcement came hours after Israel resumed its offensive in Gaza on Sunday because of continuing rocket fire from Gaza, according to reports of the BBC News.

Hamas Spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri declared that the ceasefire would start at 14:00 local time.
