The body of a man has been found along Istanbul's city walls near Sarayburnu, in exactly the same spot where an American woman visiting the city was killed in 2013.
The man, who is thought to be a foreign national aged between 35 and 40, sustained cuts to his throat, reports said. One of his shoes was found one meter away.
Murderer of US tourist Sarai Sierra sentenced to life
Ziya Tasalı, the Turkish citizen accused of murdering U.S. citizen Sarai Sierra in Istanbul early last year, has been sentenced to life in prison.
In addition to the life sentence, the Istanbul court fined Tasalı to five years and 10 months for assault, and two years and six months for theft.
Dead body found near same Istanbul spot where US tourist Sierra was murdered
A body was found next to Istanbulâs Sarayburnu neighborhood, near the ancient city walls on June 8. Following an initial examination, police said the killer burned the body before leaving it.
