Events to mark Victory Day in World War II in Russia on May 9 will be staged in several cities in Serbia, Montenegro, Moldova, and in Bosnia's Serb-dominated entity, Republika Srpska, including several Immortal Regiment marches.

'Immortal Regiment' processions will be held in Serbia, Republika Srpska and Montenegro on Wednesday, Victory Day in Russia, which marks the Soviet Union's defeat of Nazi Germany in World War II.

The Russian motorcyle group, the Night Wolves, intend to visit several towns and cities in Serbia and Bosnia as part of their "Russian Balkans" tour - despite a ban on their leaders entering Bosnia imposed last week.

EU Foreign Affairs and Security Policy spokesperson Maja Kocijancic told BIRN that Brussels is not considering funding a joint EU-US humanitarian centre for financing, as Serbian media suggested on Thursday.

Serbian media claimed that the Western-backed centre could be a counterweight to the Russian-Serbian humanitarian centre in the southern city of Nis.

The EU plans to invest money into building a humanitarian center at the Ponikve airport near the town of Uzice, western Serbia.
