Selman Busnov's lawyer told the state court on Monday that his client is suing Bosnia and Herzegovina because of the psychological trauma he endured due to being kept under house arrest during his trial.

Lawyer Kenan Hadzimuhovic said that "any amount awarded by the court cannot sufficiently compensate for mental anguish, worry and fear that the plaintiff suffered".

The Appeals Chamber of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina has confirmed a first-instance verdict, acquitting seven persons of charges for war crimes in the Kladanj area between May 1992 and July 1993.

Safet Mujcinovic, Selman Busnov, Nusret Muhic, Zijad Hamzic, Ramiz Halilovic, Nedzad Hodzic and Osman Gogic were all acquitted.

The appeals chamber of the Bosnian state court on Thursday sentenced Kahro Vejzovic, a policeman in the village of Stupari near Kladanj during wartime, to six years in prison for crimes against Serb civilians.

Vejzovic was found guilty of torturing captured Serb civilians in Stupari between June and September 1992 by hitting them all over their bodies.
