Abazovic called on the Special State Prosecution to investigate his claim, adding that members of the Belivuk crime group had visited Montenegro despite prohibition orders.

The budget legislation was sent to parliament on March 31, but the voting was put on hold as the largest ruling majority bloc, For the Future of Montenegro, called Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapic for negotiations on Government reconstruction.

The new government, a coalition of three political blocs who together control 41 of parliament's 81 seats, has vowed to uphold the rule of law, get to the bottom of a string of corruption scandals and end the climate of impunity surrounding attacks on journalists.

Opposition parties and some prominent NGOs have called on Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic to dismiss the director of police, Slavko Stojanovic, after the police accused the Special Prosecutor's Office of illegally ordering the arrest of senior police officers.
