Turkish, Japanese leaders to inaugurate Istanbul City Hospital on May 21
The Istanbul City Hospital, which has been built by a Turkish-Japanese construction consortium, will officially open on May 21, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said on May 11.
In his address to the nation, Erdoğan said he plans an opening ceremony via a teleconference with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
Japan Extended the State of Emergency until 31 May
Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe announced today that the state of emergency due to the coronavirus in Japan will be extended until May 31, France Press reported.
According to the government, it is still early to abolish measures introduced to limit the spread of the virus.

Japan has since announced that its ambassador-designate to Kosovo in 2019 will be its former ambassador to Mozambique from 2014-17, Akira Mizutani. Based in Vienna, he serves also as Ambassador to Austria. Mizutani has served in Japan's foreign ministry for decades, in embassies such as Turkey, Germany and Pakistan.

China virus death toll tops 200 as WHO declares global emergency
The death toll from a new virus reached 213 on Jan. 31 and the World Health Organization (WHO) declared a global health emergency.
In a new travel advisory, the U.S. State Department raised its warning for China to the same level as Afghanistan and Iraq, saying on its website, "Do not travel to China due to novel coronavirus first identified in Wuhan."
