Tokyo Paralympic Games: Judoka Alex Bologa wins bronze medal
Romanian Judoka Alex Bologa grabbed the bronze medal in the 60 kg category, at the Paralympic Games in Tokyo, after winning the match against Uzbek Sherzod Namozov. Bologa (class B1), who thus obtains a new bronze medal at the Paralympic Games, after the one won in 2016, in Rio, won by the opponent's disqualification (class B3), after two minutes and 17 seconds of the "golden score".
Cyclist Eduard Novak wins silver at Tokyo 2020 Paralympics
Romanian cyclist Eduard Novak, the current Minister of Youth and Sports, won the Paralympic silver medal in the men's C4 4000 m individual pursuit on Friday, at the Izu Velodrome in Tokyo. Despite a better start, Novak was defeated in the gold-medal race by Slovakia's Jozef Metelka.

COVID-19 death toll rises by 17 to 34,471 in last 24hrs
The Strategic Communication Group (GCS) informs that, in the last 24 hours, 17 deaths have been reported in patients infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Furthermore, one death from before the reference period was also reported - a man from Bucharest, deceased in July. According to GCS, the patients who died of COVID-19 were 9 men and 9 women.

The team from Constanta has won its second trophy in the Supercup, after their first in 2017, won also over Dinamo and also by a one goal difference, 28-27.
COVID-19 claims another 14 lives, death toll rises to 34,453
As many as 14 Romanians infected with SARS-CoV-2 were reported dead in the last 24 hours (seven women and seven men), taking the country's death toll to 34,453, shows data released on Wednesday by the Strategic Communication Group (GCS).
