President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has criticized major world powers for their failure to intervene in the ongoing Gaza conflict, condemning what he described as a shameful display of helplessness "in the face of Israel's brutal attacks on Palestine."

This year's recipients of the Presidential Culture and Arts Grand Awards were announced on Oct. 29 by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

A prominent Turkish architect made a proposal to give the old names of Istanbul into some corners or regions of the metropolis to remind the inhabitants of the cultural and historical richness of the city.

While walking down Istanbul's ?stiklal Avenue, it's impossible to miss the striking building on the right side. 

The historic Narmanl? Han, which was used as a studio and a residence in recent years, has hosted many artists such as Aliye Berger, Ahmet Hamdi Tanp?nar and Bedri Rahmi Eyübo?lu. The building was also a Russian prison, serving until 1914.

The 142-year-old Galatasaray University building, which burned down in 2013, has been longing for a complete restoration and patience is running out, the university's rector Prof. Ertu?rul Karsak has told daily Hürriyet in an interview.
