For the period January-May 2019, Bulgarian exports to the Republic of Korea registered an increase of nearly 25% compared to the same period last year and reached BGN 54.8 million. This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Economy at an event organized by the Korean-Bulgarian Association for friendship, attended by many Korean investors from different sectors.
Foreign direct investments in Bulgaria during the first month of the year are up by almost 92 percent on a yearly basis, reaching EUR 54M, Stamen Yanev, CEO of InvestBulgarian Agency said for the Bulgarian National Radio.
Eight projects worth a total of EUR 156M have been certified since the beginning of the year, with the potential of creating 3,800 new jobs nationally.
Estimates of a brisk fall in the value of foreign direct investment (FDI) into Bulgaria are "not quite correct", Stamen Yanev, who heads the country's investment promotion agency, has said.
The year 2016 was a "successful" year in the view of InvestBulgaria Agency, Yanev has told Bloomberg Tv Bulgaria's morning talkshow in an interview.
Bulgaria is negotiating the opening of an automotive assembly plant on its soil, the investment promotion agency's head has said.
"We are in talks with a major German company [to convince it] to begin assembling cars in Bulgaria," Stamen Yanev, chair of InvestBulgaria Agency, has told daily 24 Chasa in an interview.
