The market is putting great pressure on the government to allow stores to reopen from next week, by utilizing either the click-and-collect or the click-in-shop model, with the Athens Traders Association hosting a press conference on Wednesday to illustrate the low impact these models would have on the spread of the coronavirus.

Store owners hoping to regain losses in summer sales starting Monday
Sales in Greek stores nationwide will start on Monday (July 8), with shop owners hoping to recoup some of the losses they suffered in the first six months of the year.
"Due to the economic suffocation, the first half of the year was the worst period in recent years for all retail businesses," said Stavros Kafounis, president of the Athens Traders Association.
Mitsotakis visits smashed stores in central Athens
Main opposition leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis reiterated his pledge to end lawlessness in central Athens on Friday during a visit to Voukourestiou Street where vandals smashed window displays on Thursday night.
