North Macedonia's President Stevo Pendarovski and his Bulgarian counterpart, Rumen Radev, are traveling this week to Rome to pay joint tribute to Sts Cyril and Methodius, the ninth-century missionaries and founders of the first Slavic alphabet, who were sanctified there in the 19th century.

Skopje – Foreign minister of Slovenia, Austria and the Czech Republic, Anže Logar, Alexander Schallenberg and Jakub Kulhanek, expressed support to North Macedonia’s EU path at a working visit to the country on Saturday. Macedonian FM Bujar Osmani thanked for their support and called for EU accession talks to start as soon as possible.

North Macedonia has fulfilled all the democratic conditions to open EU accession talks, but it is constantly being "kicked" around, said President Zoran Milanovic on Thursday after Sofia criticised his statements about Bulgaria's policy on that EU membership aspirant.

North Macedonia has declared a diplomat from the Russian embassy in Skopje persona non grata, official sources confirmed for news site MKD.mk.

The Heads of State of Bulgaria and the Republic of North Macedonia, Rumen Radev and Stevo Pendarovski, and the delegations led by them will pay tribute together to the work of the holy brothers Cyril and Methodius in Rome.

President Vui was welcomed by the host, Slovenian President Borut Pahor and Croatian President Zoran Milanovi.
Upon his arrival, the President of Serbia greeted Pahor more cordially than Milanovi, with whom, according to the Tanjug reporter, he greeted more officially.

The Brdo-Brioni summit was originally planned for last year, to coincide with the 10th anniversary of the initiative, but was postponed twice due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Brdo pri Kranju – President Borut Pahor will host a summit of the Brdo-Brijuni Process in Brdo pri Kranju on Monday featuring his counterparts from Croatia, Albania, Montenegro, Kosovo, North Macedonia and Serbia and the presiding trio of Bosnia-Herzegovina. The meeting, marking the 10th anniversary of the initiative, is to reaffirm committent to EU enlargement.

President of the Republic of North Macedonia Stevo Pendarovski is on a two-day visit to Brussels, where he is holding a series of working meetings, including with the EP's standing rapporteur for the country, Ilhan Kyuchyuk (Renew Europe Group, Bulgaria).

Ilhan Kyuchyuk, the European Parliament's standing rapporteur for North Macedonia, is on an official visit to Skopje. He has already met with North Macedonian President Stevo Pendarovski, PM Zoran Zaev, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bujar Osmani, Vice-PM Nikola Dimitrov, Minister of Local Self-Government Goran Milevski and opposition party leader Hristijan Mickoski.
