Restaurant and Hotel Keepers in Bulgaria Say No to Tighter Anti-Covid Measures

Restaurant and hotel owners took to the streets in Bulgaria to protest the tightening of COVID-19 measures in the country set to take effect on 7 September until the end of October.

The centre of Veliko Tarnovo was blocked on Thursday. Plovdiv will be blocked on Friday. A big protest is organised to take place on 7 September in the capital Sofia.

Offices with a large open space have a higher risk of contracting COVID-19 than in schools, because there are adults mostly.

 "Children get less sick and less exposed to this infection, " said this morning in an interview with BNT  Prof. Mira Kozhuharova, adviser to the Minister of Health.

Bulgaria with Most Deaths due to COVID-19 in EU

Bulgaria once again topped the grim list of deaths from COVID-19. It is the leader in the ranking per 1 million population.

Health Minister Announced Extension of Epidemic Emergency Situation in Bulgaria by 3 Months

The emergency epidemic situation in Bulgaria will be extended by 3 months. This decision was made by the government at today's meeting of the Council of Ministers.

The news was announced by the Minister of Health Dr. Stoycho Katsarov.
