Turkey, Turkish Cyprus to discuss upcoming 5+1 format talks

Turkey and Turkish Cyprus will seek to coordinate their positions concerning the future steps to be taken for resolving the Cyprus problem before 5+1 format talks as Ankara urged the United Nations to stop relying on "a tested and exhausted process" that has failed to resolve the Cyprus dispute for "more than 50 years."

Greek, Turkish jets engage in mock dogfights

Greek and Turkish F-16s engaged in three mock dogfights east of the island of Rhodes in the southeastern Aegean yesterday. The dogfights occurred within the space of 10 minutes from 2.50 to 3 p.m. 

In total, 10 Turkish F-16 jets - four of them armed - and two CN-235 transport aircraft entered Greek national airspace 30 times. 

UN chief attends 'final phase' of Cyprus talks

The presence of U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres at high-level talks to reunify the divided island of Cyprus offered a glimmer of hope that an impasse preventing a peace deal could be overcome, officials said on June 30.

However, when asked if rival sides had reached any common ground, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Çavuşoğlu said "not yet."
