Turkey denounces UN official's remarks on Gaza attacks
Turkey on May 27 denounced remarks of the director of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in the Gaza Strip - which justified the Israeli assault on the blockaded enclave.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Tanju Bilgiç in a statement called Matthias Schmale's remarks "incorrect, unfortunate and extremely dangerous."

Turkey dismisses US report on religious freedom
Turkey on May 14 dismissed the U.S. State Department's latest report on religious freedom, saying it is not based on fact and ignored Ankara's efforts to promote religious freedom in the country.
The Turkey section of the International Religious Freedom Report 2020 is not based on facts, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Tanju Bilgiç said in a statement.

Ambassador Tanju Bilgiç has been reappointed as the spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry, succeeding Hami Aksoy who was sent to Belgrade as the Turkish ambassador to Serbia.

Good relations between Turkey and Serbia are essential for peace and stability in the Balkans, according to the outgoing Turkish ambassador.

Serbia, Turkey eye stronger defense industry ties
Serbia and Turkey are looking to improve defense industry ties, defense and diplomatic officials from both countries said on Nov. 25.
A meeting in the capital Belgrade between Serbian Defense Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic and Turkish Ambassador Tanju Bilgiç stressed the need for more cooperation in the field of equipment and modernization, said a Serbian Defense Ministry statement.
