Prolific Greece trounces Kazakhstan, sets up final with Georgia
Greece has got one final hurdle to clear on its way to Euro 2024, after thrashing Kazakhstan on Thursday with a 5-0 score in Athens.
The Greek national team has advanced to the final of its division in the UEFA Nations League and must beat Georgia away in five days' time to qualify to this summer's finals in Germany.
Greens come from behind to beat the Reds, as PAOK drops from the top
The lead of the Super League race has changed hands again, as PAOK lost at home to Aris and AEK has overtaken it, but the most spectacular win belonged to Panathinaikos that defeated archrival Olympiakos in Piraeus.
PAOK leads Super League table downing the Greens
PAOK beat Panathinaikos on Sunday and is now alone on top of the Super League table, while the Greens have slumped to third after AEK's win over OFI.
The top-of-the-table clash in Thessaloniki had PAOK win 2-1 through a pair of Kiril Despodov goals. Greece captain Tasos Bakasetas had temporarily equalized for his first goal in the green jersey.

PAO signs Bakasetas
Greek soccer international Tasos Bakasetas arrived in Athens on Monday night to complete his transfer to Panathinaikos, which is coached by Turkish coach Fatih Terim.
Bakasetas, who was signed from Turkish club Trabzonspor, told reporters that "it was hard to say goodbye to Trabzonspor."

Euro 2024: Solid Greece defeats Ireland 2-1 in Athens
Greece maintained its hopes of making the top two of its Euro 2024 qualifying group with a 2-1 win at home against Ireland on Friday.
This was the Greek national team's second win in as many games, after the victory at Gibraltar, in a group that also includes France and the Netherlands.
