Visitors make the most of International Museum Day
Visitors packed the halls of the National Archaeological Museum of Athens, as well as other sites and museums across the country on Friday, taking advantage of the offer of free admission on International Museum Day. International Museum Day was established in 1977 by the International Council of Museums (ICOM) to promote the idea of museums as an important means of cultural exchange.

Police bus enlisted to protect notaries from protesters

Heavy rain hits capital as weather turns
Pedestrians cross the road in central Athens amid a downpour on Monday. Following several weeks of unseasonably mild weather, the temperature fell yesterday, with rainfall and storms spreading across the country. Meteorologists forecast strong storms in central and southern parts of the country, which were expected to reach the central Aegean and Dodecanese islands by the end of the day.

Officer suspended for punching sacked cleaner
One police officer was suspended on Friday for punching a sacked Finance Ministry cleaner on the head and another was being investigated for wearing non-issue toughened gloves normally worn by motorcycle riders.
