"I am ashamed to even answer to the question whether Serbia will recognize Kosovo on the eve of Vidovdan. I am ashamed, because it says more about them. It will never be on our agenda. It speaks about what others have done," he said.
He pointed out that we are facing a difficult period, which will commence with the arrival of Miroslav Lajcak.

"I will not be a candidate for president in the next elections," Thaci told TV Siri.
In a few months, I don't think I will run for president again. I will lead entirely different life after two decades of political responsibility, the Kosovo President said.
"I am leaving in circumstances when the country will be heading in the right direction," Thaci said.

He added that he believes that an agreement could be reached this year, Kosovo online reports.
Thaci said that it would have to move quickly in that direction in order for Kosovo to join the EU and NATO. He stated that he is optimistic that an agreement with Serbia will be reached this year.

She commented on Thaci's statement that he is optimistic "that Presevo, Medvedja and Bujanovac will join Kosovo without encroaching on the territory, because that is a historical right."

"We are open for talks. Thaci did all this with the help of the United States and will always ask to talk in their presence. Serbia will always talk, but all those measures that destroyed the possibility of free access to goods and capital must be removed. When that has been done, we will be ready to talk", Vucic pointed out.

As he said, he made this decision because Lajcak does not recognize the independence of Kosovo.

He pointed out, in response to the claims that "Serbia has gone through the worst and that most of them are infected in our country", that we have the most people tested on a daily basis, more than seven thousand of them.
"How do you think they have more infected when they have 1000 tested per day? We can now stop and test 300. We will not hide, we will not lie," he said.

He said that there were no talks or agreements with Belgrade.
"I dream about Presevo, Medvedja and Bujanovac becoming a part of Kosovo's territorial integrity without any compromise," Thaci told TV Klan Kosova last night.

"Next week I'll take the final constitutional steps to enable the formation of a new government with full legitimacy from parliament, capable of fighting COVID-19 and serving the people," the President tweeted. 

Meanwhile analysts see no actual likelihood of a swift resumption of the stalled dialogue process with Serbia.

"The global lockdown certainly will delay the prospects for a settlement between Kosovo and Serbia this year, which were grim anyway," Gezim Visoka, a Kosovo-born Associate Professor of Peace and Conflict Studies at Dublin City University, Ireland, told BIRN.
